Muslim youths to advise ministers on extremism

A group of young British Muslims are being selected by ministers as part of a drive to prevent radicalisation and tackle community concerns.
The 22 young people aged 16-25 will regularly meet with ministers and civil servants. They have partly been chosen because of good track-records relating to community action and volunteering. This advisory group is one step towards the government's rethink on how to prevent violent extremism in the counter-terrorism strategy. Muslims asked for young people to be given a voice following the 2005 London suicide bombings, which killed 52 people.
